Food Pest Control

Pests found in food are varied and almost impossible to deal with once they are in food. Common pests are flour beetle, confused flour beetle, biscuit beetle, rice weevil, grain weevil, warehouse moth Indian mealmoth, the list goes on. We recommend that all stored packeted cereal, pasta, seed or nut based food be either destroyed, or frozen until ready to use, this will stop any further degradation of the food. Clear storage cupbaords, clean and apply a liquid insecticide thoroughout, allow to dry then return tins and jars to the cupboard. Try to keep any new packeted food of the types detailed above in another area for a few weeks (treat that area first and allow to dry). Alternatively, place them in airtight containers before re-introducing to the cupboard. If you cannot freeze your current stock of packed foods, then destroy them.!!
